Photo animation without speech or lip-sync

Photo animation turns a still portrait into a short moving video. Here, you can animate old photos with a request for a subtle blink or small smile and a steady scene. This is a single-photo animation, not a slideshow or a talking avatar: it adds no speech or generated audio. It does not recreate a person's voice, personality or a real moment from the past. Even a small expression can feel different to someone who knew the person well.

Choose a portrait that already feels familiar

Start with one person whose eyes and face are clearly visible. A scan or ordinary phone photograph is welcome. Keep the original black-and-white or faded look if that is how you remember it. A blink may preserve a serious expression better than asking for a new smile.

01

Upload one portrait

Choose a clear photo of one person. Avoid very small faces, strong blur, heavy damage and large groups. You can repair the source first with our restoration tool if needed.

02

Choose a restrained motion

Select a quiet blink or a small smile. The output is a five-second silent video. Confirm the displayed credit cost before you start; buying credits alone does not generate a video.

03

Watch before you download

Check the eyes, mouth, head shape and background through the entire clip. Keep it only if it feels right. Download your silent MP4; the video is saved in your private history for download and deletion.

Questions about bringing old photos into motion

Can I make a photo blink without making it talk?

You can request a quiet blink or a small smile in an approximately five-second silent clip. Specific gestures are not guaranteed. The tool does not add narration, clone a voice or synchronize lips to speech.

Will the animated person look exactly the same?

Exact identity preservation is not guaranteed. AI generates motion that was not recorded in the still image and can change eyes, mouth, teeth or facial shape. Review the complete clip against the original before keeping or sharing it.

Does a black-and-white photo need to be colorized first?

No. You can keep a black-and-white portrait. Animation and restoration are different operations: animation is not a guarantee to remove scratches, recover detail or fix a blurry face.

How many credits does one video use?

A five-second silent video uses 10 credits. The Starter pack contains 10 credits for $4.90, with no subscription or free-generation allowance. The same balance can be used for image tools; the exact cost is shown before each generation. Unused credits may qualify for a proportional refund within 14 days of purchase under the Refund Policy.

What if the video is still processing or fails?

Once accepted, the task is saved to your account. Check My photos if you leave the page. A confirmed technical failure automatically returns the 10 reserved credits. Disliking a completed expression or likeness is not automatically a technical failure. Check an uncertain status before submitting another paid task.

Can I share an animated photo of a deceased relative?

Consider the wishes of the people pictured and the family members who will see it. Explain that it is an AI-animated tribute rather than a historical recording. Different people may prefer the original still photograph.

Who processes my portrait, and how long is it kept?

Animation sends your photo and instructions to SeeAPI. Its current policy gives stored input/output files and task information no scheduled automatic expiry; request logs are kept for 60 days. Expiring our source URL or deleting a result on our site does not delete a copy already held by the provider. MiniMax’s own retention has not been verified. Read our Privacy Policy for details and contact support about deletion requests.
